Our Story so Far

Our Approach

So, how did we get from a one-teen operation in Mumbai to impacting thousands of youth? Here's our secret sauce:

Collaboration and Mentorship:

  • Partnering with local NGOs like Udaan and the Gujarat state government’s Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat to deliver transformative Communication Workshops, addressing the critical need-gap in employability skills for youth from underserved communities in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

  • Mentoring from experienced senior leaders like Ms. Mamta Rangan at Udaan and Dr. Adithya at the HK foundation, together with working at a grassroots level with passionate NGO executives like Ms. Hiral and Pinki in Gujarat, Ms. Sushree in Mumbai, and Ms. Sumendra in Madhya Pradesh

Volunteer/Trainer Training:

  • Upskilling over 100 volunteers and trainers, including high school students and community leaders, such as Chaitrali in Pune, our first volunteer trainer, to serve as workshop facilitators. Training focuses on equipping them with written and spoken English communication skills, leadership, and teaching techniques to empower them to conduct workshops independently.

Curriculum Development:

  • Developed a dynamic curriculum inspired by working directly with the youth it serves. After engaging with teens from local slums and conducting secondary research, we identified communication skills as a key barrier to employability.

  • The curriculum, designed in consultation with corporate mentors, emphasizes practical skills like job and college interview preparation, customer communication for aspiring entrepreneurs, pitching ideas to investors, and professional social conversation. It incorporates interactive role-plays (e.g., teens acting as business professionals in mock interviews), analysis of iconic speeches and movie clips, and hands-on activities to make learning engaging and impactful.

Curriculum Details:

  • Written Communication: Crafting compelling resumes, emails, and pitches.

  • Spoken Communication: Mastering interviews, public speaking, and professional interactions.

  • Practical Application: Real-world scenarios like pitching to investors or engaging customers, tailored to empower youth from underserved backgrounds.

  • Personal Expression: Mentored over 80 teens to express their voices through open letters, personally editing and compiling them into a book published in April 2025. Pitched the book idea to a publisher, with all proceeds funding scholarships for underserved youth.

Internship Programs:

  • Newly launched initiative to connect corporates, especially start-ups and small businesses, with our network of students to create a 'win-win'. The companies harness the energy and passion of these young minds, while our students get real-world experience.

  • Piloted with Udaan India Foundation in Mumbai, with plans to roll out more broadly.

Scalable Impact:

  • Operating across Mumbai, with expansion into Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh through partnerships with four NGOs and the Gujarat state government, we have expanded well beyond large cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad into small towns and villages like Baliyasan, Dholasan, and Chhindwada, empowering 10,000 youth across 28 locations in three states.

  • The "Train the Trainer" model ensures sustainability by equipping facilitators to deliver workshops independently, creating a scalable impact. This initiative, born from a personal mission to bridge inequality, fosters a virtuous cycle of empowerment, enabling youth to uplift their communities. Some portions of our Train the Trainer deck below:

Our Partners

We're grateful to our partners, without whom we would not have been able to scale up to the extent as have,
